Flavor: Mild
Initial reaction: Geez, no OP sequence.

I actually watched this when the RAW came out… I just didn’t know what to write about it. The only complaints I had with this were probably the same as everybody else: the legs, Yuuko’s role as Hikari, that annoying song they played during the, err… “action” scene (aka the OP theme, ugh), etc. Also, I was curious to see why people kept comparing this with Ouran and, yeah, guess I really managed to find some similarities between these two. Overall, this first episode wasn’t as fun as I hoped it to be, but I admit it was still pretty decent so I’m looking forward to the next one.

By the way, I’m planning on reading the manga, although I’m not so sure if that’d be a good idea since I’m afraid I could start hating the show if I did that.

    I suppose it all still boils down to “expectations”? :)

    It’s something I learned while watching Anime adaptations, especially the ones done by GONZO (The only adaptations I have little tolerance for are the ones that are based on the works by CLAMP. Botch them, and you’ll get nitpicky rage from me :p). After less than satisfactory productions in the past, I’ve started having low expectations of GONZO, and was able to put up with shows like Dragonaut and Rosario + Vampire until their final episode. E.g. although GONZO butchered a good majority of RosaVamp’s plot, the overall story was still ok. The only thing which annoyed the hell out of me about that adaptation was that they abused fanservice and made it tasteless. What hath they done to fanservice =.=… But in the end, I guess it still depends on the individual. ;)

    Regarding S.A, only the voice casting really bugged me. Everything else was decent but not fantastic. Just…meh, ok, no complaints but no praises either.

    Well, since AIC is lending their contribution in the project, maybe it won’t turn out so bad? Seto no Hanayome was pretty good. ^^
