H2O ~Footprints in the Sand~ 09 - Needs more bullying.

Flavor: Sour
Well, this wasn’t a filler… but I think what we got last week was far more exciting than everything that happened in this episode. The only scene worth mentioning from this week is the kiss in the end, but it’s like I didn’t even enjoy it since Hirose x Hayami isn’t that good of a pairing anyways. Another interesting moment is probably where Takuma reveals to Hayami that her mother comitted suicide some time ago but I think that’s about it. Let’s hope they haven’t run out of ideas for soul rocking scenes, because it’s been a while since we’ve gotten a good one.

Well, this episode made like no sense whatsoever. So, this week they decided to go for something different and made some kind of mahou shoujo parody complete with chibis and other random crap. I admit I laughed a bit here and there, but I think I spent most of the episode simply sitting there… wondering if I was really watching an episode of the same H2O show I know until my brain felt like it was about to explode because of the neverending WTF moments.
Also, the worst part was when they tried to make it look as if this wasn’t actually a filler episode by adding a serious Otoha farewell scene in the end. So, now what? Is that the ending for Otoha’s “story/route/whatever”? If so, that’d be pretty disappointing.

Yeah, this wasn’t a filler after all.

So, basically… Hirose, Hinata and Hayami were going to have their first friendly Nerine-style tamagoyaki meal together when, as expected, Yui arrives and starts a bitch fight with Hinata, ruining lunchtime. Later, Hayami and friends go to the city where they meet Yui and gang once again so this time they decide to go eating and do some shopping together. Yui doesn’t seem all that happy about it and she starts challenging Hayami to some random competitions, but she ends up failing miserably in all of them.
After that, Yui separates from the group but she gets lost or something like that and ends up in whats left of Kohinata’s house. She is later found by Hayami and then they show a flashback where they explain that Yui and the rest of the villagers hate Kohinata because her parents were doctors but they never really helped the sick people for some reason. One of the victims from this resulted being Yui’s jiichan.
So, in the end, Yui seems to have kind of reconcilliated with Hayami, so it’s another enemy less, I guess. Next week’s episode is called Hotaru, so we might confirm if the stuff about Otoha being Hinata’s sister spirit is really true or not.

Didn’t think we’d get a reconciliation this soon… I was expecting to see some more Hinata vs. Kohinata catfights before we got to that. So, after this, I still don’t like Hinata, but I guess I can’t really hate her for being so mean to Hayami since she was acting like that mostly due to her evil grandfather’s influence. Also, I admit I didn’t expect Hayami to forgive Hinata after everything she’s done to her lately… guess she’s really a nice girl.
Anyways, this conflict has been more or less solved, but there are still some mysteries left to be explored (like… everything related to Otoha). Don’t expect too much story development next week, though, since the next episode is called “Yui” and my guess is that it’s gonna be another filler. Blah. Who likes that ***** anyway?

Also, nooooooo~

Hah, things are starting to get more interesting. This time, the episode was focused on Hinata and her *****y attempts at snatching Takuma from Hayami. Seriously, after watching this, my hate for this girl has increased by a lot and now it’s over nine thousand.
We also got to see some more flashbacks, which sort of reveal that Hinata stopped being friends with Hayami because the rest of the villagers were already in bad terms with the Kohinata family, but they still haven’t shown us the reason behind all this hate. Also, the building consumed by fire that we saw in some previous flashbacks… looks like it was Hayami’s house.
Whatever, I’m sort of excited for next week’s episode since, now that Hayami has seen the scene at the top of this post, I expect some sort of Hinata vs. Kohinata intense dramatic battle.

So much hate.

Whoa, so Takuma is now able to see perfectly fine but it’s like nobody gives a damn. Anyway, this week we got the first wave of flashbacks that this series has to offer, more school violence involving Hayami and less fanservice.
Aside from that, all the stuff in this episode it’s not that different from what we saw in the last one. The animation quality is still pretty bad, and I haven’t grown fond of any of the characters yet… the only girl I kinda care about is Hayami. I mean, poor kid, even the teacher hates her. I wonder what she did in the past to deserve all that ANGST she’s getting… maybe they’re all just tired of her tsundere attitude.

Obligatory nice boat shot of the week.

Obligatory t- er… nevermind.
