true tears 04 - Weird faces.

January 27th, 2008 | Category: true tears

Flavor: Mild

So, it seems like a lot of stuff happened in this episode, yet the only thing that really managed to catch my attention was that Noe’s brother is a siscon and he decided to oblige Shinichirou to be his Noe’s boyfriend in a wild attempt to overcome this bad habit of his… the rest was just some weak drama and random character development scenes that I didn’t really care about. Overall, this show has been pretty decent so far, though I don’t really think it’s been as good as everybody else claims it to be.

true tears 02 - Two girls…

And a sucky male lead. Har har.

Flavor: Mild

Eh, it wasn’t that bad of an episode. They even introduced some drama with the rather short conflict that originated between Noe and Hiromi… but, it’s just that, after watching shows like KimiAru and Shigofumi, this seems pretty slow-paced and not that entertaining. Both the soundtrack and the animation remain quite impressive, but I feel that the plot still hasn’t done much to keep me interested. Also, when are they going to leave the poor chickens alone? It’s like they have gotten more screentime than that other heroine who works in a restaurant.

And what’s with this guy who’s living with Noe? Don’t tell she’s already cheating on the main character with this person.

Someone killed my CHICKEN!

Flavor: Mild
Initial reaction: Yay, an eufonious OP!

I was pretty hesitant about this anime because of the absolute alteration from the source material that True Tears suffered, but now that this first episode was somewhat better than I expected… I think I might enjoy this show.

I don’t really like the character designs they used for this series that much, but I guess the animation quality makes up for it. Also, the three main heroines have already been introduced and they didn’t seem as annoying/boring as I thought them to be.

Something that still bothers me, though, is how they’re planning on developing the drama and the plot in this show. I mean, the -Noe being unable to cry because of a childhood trauma or whatever- thing has a lot of potential, but when they try to show us her inability to produce tears by making her feel sad about a silly chicken, it makes you wonder if the producers are really going to put an effort to make things more exciting.

Other than that, this show had a decent start… and hopefully whatever studio is behind this will make me change my overall opinion of their production real soon.

Keep blogging? I guess.

I can’t believe she actually liked that!
